Ceno is a four-legged, stackable upholstered chair. Simple yet elegant, it fits seamlessly when its function changes, from meeting room chair to dining room chair. Ceno combines elegance with comfort and robust construction, which makes it suitable for use in conference rooms, and meeting rooms, cafeterias, waiting areas and as a visitors chair.

Ceno's back and seat cushions are exchangeable, as are the unitary upholstery covers. A two-part, exchangeable cover is available. Upholstery is in Wilkhahn Group 4 fabric, in a variety of colours.

Bench seating with a difference

The hm83 star shaped bench seating system was first, innovative design by Simon Pengelly for leading British manufacturer Hitch Mylius. Now, another leading designer, David Fox has created a variation on the theme for OCee Design.

Ocee's Touch system is an adaptable modular bench seating system designed by David Fox for OCee Design which is a practical and modern solution for breakout, touchdown or working areas.

The free-standing hard-wearing benches and the 100% recyclable and connecting tables allow a multitude of configurations to provide maximum flexibility.

Bisley shares our keen interest in carrying out environmentally-friendly manufacturing practices and supporting wildlife protection. On 3rd November Bisley took part and bid in the WWF's Faces in the Wild auction to raise awareness and funds for natural environment conservation.

At WWF's Faces in the Wild event an outstanding £26,230 was raised in support of endangered species. All aegistra's partners support sustainable manufacturing practices and follow the ANSI/BIFMA Furniture Sustainability Standard.

How design can improve youth's quality of life

The difficult economic climate we are experiencing is proving to be tough on the provision of youth services such as youth centres and other core services. Despite this, a number of inspiring initiatives have involved physical and social design to make a difference in young people's quality of life across the country. As Luke Hughes, CEO of our partner Luke Hughes and Company, says "In any good building the connection between architecture and the furniture should be seamless, creating a sense of 'rightness', functionally and aesthetically". These principles can be seen to good effect in projects such as Gillett Square in Dalston, the New Horizon Youth Centre in King's Cross and an Open Youth Venue in Norwich - all these are renovated areas and buildings redesigned to provide young people with space and opportunities to express themselves and find support and information.

Gillett Square in Dalston is one of the outstanding examples of architecture and design put at the service of the community and in particular of young people in a particularly difficult economic climate.

KI (Europe) have released a white paper on school furniture's potential to support different kinds of learning and teaching experiences, creating new opportunities for educational innovation. The white paper covers topics such as designing spaces around activities, choosing furniture according to the kind of atmosphere required, how posture and comfort are keys to concentration and performance, and how intelligent furniture is beneficial in optimising technology space.

School furniture should be carefully chosen keeping in mind that design can be extremely helpful to provide more comfortable and optimised spaces
